Association of Swiss Organbuilders (GSO)
Valeria, Sitten   The Association of Swiss Organbuilders (Die Gesellschaft Schweizerischer Orgelbaufirmen ~ GSO) was founded in 1974 as an employers' federation, with the aim both of improving the collaboration between Swiss Organbuilders and also the promotion of training and development for its workforce and apprentices.

The organisation comprises at present 12 organ building companies, in which some 120 workers and 10 apprentices are employed.

The GSO
  • acts on behalf of its member companies, in discussion with their social partners
  • works hard for and publicises good current working practices
  • makes a contribution to the organ-building classes at the "Bildungs- und Beratungszentrum Arenenberg" at Salenstein TG, and supports the apprentices in their work
  • represents its members in the professional commission of equality
  • gives impartial information to general or specific questions about the field of organbuilding
A council of experts from the GSO can act in the event of a disagreement between partners to a contract, as a neutral arbitration authority.
